Our founder, Dr. Shiksha Gallow, is a pioneer in medical cannabis research and treatment. She was awarded first prize by the South African Medical Association (SAMA) for her revolutionary work on medical cannabis and prostate cancer. Her expertise and leadership have been recognized globally, with invitations as a keynote speaker at prestigious international medical and scientific conferences across the United States, Costa Rica, the Philippines, Thailand, and Italy.

Dr Shiksha Gallow
Dr. Shiksha Gallow is an internationally recognized pioneer in the field of medical cannabis. She served as Principal Investigator and Researcher for South Africa’s first clinical cannabis trials and is certified as a Cannabis Clinician by the Society of Cannabis Clinicians (USA). A holistic and integrative medical professional, she currently leads multiple clinical cannabis research trials and is deeply committed to advancing patient care through evidence-based plant medicine.
Academic & Professional Credentials
Dr. Gallow holds an exceptional academic portfolio, including:
- Two PhDs (Medicine; Business Leadership) and currently pursuing a third PhD in Medical Science, focusing on the effects of cannabinoids on prostate cancer patients—among the first cannabis-focused doctoral studies in South Africa.
- A Master’s in Medical Science, Master’s in Public Health Medicine, and an MBA, along with postgraduate certifications in medical cannabis from the University of Washington (USA) and accredited programs in Australia.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Clinical Pathology, as a Professional Natural Scientist with SACNASP in Medical Microbiology, and recognition as a Neuroscientist.
- Certifications as an Ethno-Medical Practitioner (EPASA), Traditional Doctor (ANHA), and PRINCE2 Practitioner (APMG). She is also a qualified trainer, assessor, and moderator (SETA & ETDP SAQA).
- Traditional Chineese Medical Practioner and Acupuncture
Her academic journey spans globally respected institutions including Durban University, University of Roehampton, Open University, Milton Keynes University, University of Washington, UNISA, and Prowess Delaware University.
Career Highlights
Dr. Gallow began her career in Clinical Pathology as Regional Manager at Ampath Drs Du Buisson & Partners, later serving as Chief Operations Officer at Clinical Lab Services, WITS University, where she contributed to groundbreaking clinical trials such as the HIV vaccine (IAVI), PrEP, FACTS, and the H3 Africa Biorepository. Her research has been supported by NIH, USAID, PEPFAR, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
She is well-versed in compliance and accreditation standards including ISO 17025 & 15189, British Qualogy GCLP, and FDA inspections.
Leadership in Medical Cannabis
A passionate advocate for patient access to safe, effective therapies, Dr. Gallow is a leader in developing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) from cannabis and other plant species. She has achieved remarkable outcomes in treating patients with cancer and autoimmune conditions and trains healthcare professionals globally in evidence-based medical cannabis treatments.
Her training programs, accredited by the HPCSA and the University of Cape Town, award 25 CPD points to medical doctors. She has presented at major international platforms including CannMed (Puerto Rico), Cannatech, the Society of Cannabis Clinicians (USA), the South African Medical Association, the Integrative Medicinal Conference (Italy), the International Cannabis Business Conference (Germany), Rotary (Philippines), and medical training sessions in Bangkok, Thailand, Africa, USA and Costa Rica

Dr. Gallow serves on the Technical Advisory Team for the Eastern Cape Government (ECRDA), guiding cannabis policy and strategy for medical cannabis and hemp initiatives. She also sits on the EXCO of BRICS South Africa, focusing on healthcare policy and innovation.
Current Research Interests
Her ongoing research spans on cannabinoids, Ayurvedic medicine, Integrative Medicine, Acupuncture and Homeopathy, with active clinical trials across several countries. Her upcoming publications will add critical knowledge to the global understanding of plant-based medicine.
Dr. Kerina Sulagan
Dr. Kerina Sulagan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery and has completed Dr. Gallow’s Professional Certificate in Medical Cannabis. At Holistic Healing, she leads our team of General Practitioners with compassion and dedication.
Passionate about integrative medicine, Dr. Sulagan combines conventional medical training with natural therapies. She has helped many patients experience meaningful improvements in their health through Dr. Gallow’s trusted products and healing protocols.
Her medical journey began with internship training at the Military Hospital in Cape Town, where she gained valuable experience caring for patients from all walks of life. Today, she brings that same care and commitment into her daily practice at Holistic Healing
Wayne Gallow
With a passion in the alternative healing industry. Wayne has enrolled in several courses involving medical herbs & tinctures as well as the endocannabinoidal system and anatomy. Under the close guidance of experienced medical professionals, Wayne has been granted a Traditional doctor/healing licence with the ANHA. Furthermore, with a tertiary education comprising of marketing, sales, communications , entrepreneurship and business management.
Wayne brings a wealth of corporate marketing and sales experience into the business development area of Holistic Healing his key functions include but are not limited to the following:
